Suttons Bay girls volleyball (10-0) continues a hot start to the season with a four-set victory over Buckley (9-4), Thursday, 26-24, 21-25, 25-20, 25-23. "These girls are working their butts off, and it's paying off with wins,” Suttons Bay coach Olivia Dohm said. “These girls are trusting each other and holding each other accountable."

Norse senior Megan U’Ren led defensively with 18 digs, while sophomore Ava Anderson couldn’t be stopped at the net with 18 kills. U’ren added nine other kills, and Anderson had seven digs, while sophomore Cecila Koleno had five kills.
Suttons Bay sophomore Olivia Schmidt had a day defensively with 21 digs, while Leah Clarke was setting her teammates up all night with 25 assists and 13 digs. Norse freshman Olive Cracker patrolled the net with four blocks and notched three kills.
The Bears played hard behind the efforts of Lucy Moyer with nine kills, four assists, and four blocks, while Maddie Chilson had nine kills and two digs. Mikayla Kulawiak held her own with 13 digs, three kills, and four aces.
“We got stuck on our heels and Suttons Bay just simply outplayed us in intensity,” Buckley coach Jordin Ellens said.
The Buckley junior varsity squad won against Suttons Bay 3-0.
Buckley travels to Grayling Saturday for a tournament. Suttons Bay travels to Frankfort Monday at 7 p.m.
