The Glen Lake Library will host author Mel Laracey on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
Dr. Laracey will discuss his recent book “Informing a Nation: the newspaper presidency of Thomas Jefferson.”
The book explores how President Jefferson used the media to advance his political agenda, and also raises broad questions of the relationship between the presidency and the media that remain relevant today. Dr. Laracey is a seasonal resident of Empire, and a professor of Political Science and Geography at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
