The Leland Chamber of Commerce has announced that its President, Mark Morton, will step down from his role this fall. After successfully guiding the organization through recent challenges, Morton says the Chamber is now on solid financial footing and well-prepared for a transition in leadership.
“When I first became President, the Chamber faced real difficulties,” Morton said. “The pandemic and the last few years have brought cancellations, revenue losses, and uncertainty. Thanks to our board, volunteers, and community support, we’ve come through stronger. Today, thanks to a successful 2025 Wine Festival, the Chamber is stable, our finances are sound, and our events are thriving.”
With the Chamber in a strong position, Morton emphasized that now is the right time for others to step into leadership. The Chamber is seeking both a new President and additional board members to help guide the organization into its next chapter.
