Reports of salmon running late are plentiful, and fishing spots hope to hook a big September catch.
“I think it is about 10 days later than normal. I started fishing for ciscos Sept. 2 …finally caught them in decent numbers,” NWMI Fishing Club President Mike Radcliffe said.
The Northwest Michigan Fishing Club is hosting the fifth annual Veterans Cisco in the Crisco fishing event Saturday.

“It’s about giving back to the community that served us,” Radcliffe said
NWMI Fishing Club Wednesday tournaments are done until the wintertime.
Cellar 152 and Sweet Shanty BBQ are credited with providing all the food to roughly 100 watching.
