Frankfort (6-3) made the trip north on Friday, and suffered its third loss of the season, thanks to an impressive 56-46, Glen Lake (5-2) performance.

Despite not having played in three weeks, the Lakers came out hot.

“We came out aggressive for a big game with a lot of people in the gym,” Glen Lake coach Jason Bradford said. “They showed what they can do.”

Bradford, who led the Laker girls to a state championship in 2023, has taken over the helm for the boys’ program from Robert Flaska who resigned.

“I’ve been able to work with them in the classroom and on the court. I’m honored and it’s a change for sure, but it’s exciting,” Bradford said.

The Lakers had a total team effort as junior Benji Allen managed the game with 16 points. Micheal Houtteman, another junior, scored 11 points followed by Dylan Cundiff with 10 points, five rebounds. Glen Lake’s leading scorer Jacob Plamondon only had five points and grabbed four rebounds. Despite foul trouble, other Lakers stepped up and carried the boats.

Glen Lake was scheduled to travel to Leland yesterday. However, this was questionable as of presstime as all county schools were closed yesterday due to snowy road conditions.

Stags handle Norse

Suttons Bay couldn’t handle the Stags of Kingsley on Friday night in a 64-41 loss.

The Norsemen were led by Grayson Allen with 20 points, and eight rebounds. Suttons Bay senior Finn Mankowski and Darius Lopez both tallied 11 points in the loss.
