‘SunDay’ terrifific event

This past Sunday’s “SunDay” meeting at the Bay Theatre turned out to be a terrific event, both informative and encouraging. We learned about successful solar energy projects across the U.S., from Puerto Rico to Colorado, all of them underscoring the same message — that sunlight is obviously abundant and readily transformed into electricity, giving us energy at a remarkably low cost, sometimes even no cost at all. Several Leelanau locals shared their personal experiences in generating solar power on both an individual and institutional basis. On the whole, the “SunDay” event offered a positive and promising approach to a future that should be well within our reach.
