The owner of Sugar Loaf Resort last week literally made a federal case out of a ticket he received in August from Cleveland Township over alleged violations of the township’s “blight ordinance.” Closed and decaying since 2000, Sugar Loaf Resort was purchased in 2016 by California real estate attorney Jeff Katofsky through a corporation he named Sweet Bread LLC. *** The League of Women Voters Leelanau County (LWVLC), Interlochen Public Radio and Enterprise will host the traditional “Cherry Pie Debate” via Zoom tonight. Candidates for the 101st State House of Representatives — Democratic nominee Beth McGill-Rizer and Republican Jack O’Malley — will answer questions in the virtual format, concluding the collaborative effort by LWVLC and the Enterprise to inform voters in preparation for the Nov. 3 election.
