The Leelanau Conservancy has successfully raised $8 million to permanently protect Sugar Loaf and transform it into a public area after over 1,100 donations of $10 or more to support the project.
“That means just as much meeting the goal having that kind of support in community,” Leelanau conservancy director Tom Nelson said.
The 285-acre property will be donated to the Conservancy and protected forever after they reached an agreement with BLANK SBV 45 LLC.
