The regular meeting of the Empire Village Council last week opened with the reading of a scathing letter over short term rentals and received a sharp reminder about the accountability of local government.
“The issue of STRs has lingered in a state of indecision for far too long,” David and Tamara Kroll stated. “Despite repeated discussions and clear direction from the council for the planning committee.”
The Krolls detailed how they were in attendance at planning commission meeting and they witnessed a circling conversation and a “pattern of delay and deflection.”
