Northport pulls off great UnCaged

We may still be enjoying a lingering taste of summer, but Northport’s Village Voices is just starting to prepare for its wonderful winter concert. And there’s still time for anyone with a love for singing to be part of it. The annual winter musical feast is on Sunday, November 30 this year, and is a combined event with the Northport Community Band. Rehearsals are just beginning on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm at Northport School.

Village Voices welcomes all ages – from high school on – and all voice ranges. They are particularly in need of basses. If you’re not sure of your voice type, Director Amanda Kruk can help with that. Amanda shares a sneak preview of the exciting program with the Omena News column, “I’m excited to present three of Windborne’s arrangements from their recent album, ‘To Warm the Winter Hearth’, as part of VV’s winter program this year. We also have some classic holiday favorites like ‘Little Saint Nick’ as done by the Beach Boys, a medley of wellknowns from ‘Christmas on Broadway,’ and an enchanting arrangement of Hanukkah Hayom.”
