Starting October 9, the Enterprise will start a new feature of local opinions through different lenses.
The idea of this feature is to bring to light opposing views on local topics. One from a liberal Democrat, one from a conservative Republican.
Now, before you start doubting our mental state... We live in these communities. We share air, water and likely meals at the same restaurants often at the same times. We can hold disdain for someone else’s opinion without hatred, name calling, or cancel culture. The best institutions, like the institution of marriage, or the United States, are not built on constant agreement. They are built on overcoming challenges with a higher calling than just being correct. Our goal is to shed light on the issues, not generate more heat.
