Budget discussion turns to wages

A request for a 9% raise for Family Court employees got a cool reception from county commissioners Tuesday.

Family Court Judge Steven Paciorka appeared before commissioners during a budget work session and brought with him members of his staff, for whom he is seeking a 9% raise.

Family Court is responsible for handling trusts, wills, petitions for involuntary treatment for the mentally ill as well as abuse/neglect and adoption.
