Jon Walter of Suttons Bay is retiring after many years of service in Leelanau County.
Walter was a member of the Suttons Bay Township Planning Commission and worked on the zoning ordinance. He served on the commission from 2000 to 2020, also serving on the Township Zoning Board of Appeals.
During this same period he assisted the newly formed Leelanau Trail Association (now part of the TART system) with architectural drawings of parking lots and bridges needed in the trail plan document.
