Cedar Fire adopts ‘26-‘27 budget

A $1.5 million budget for 202627 has been adopted for Cedar Area Fire and Rescue (CAFR).

The CAFR board voted unanimously Oct. 1 to adopt the spending plan which reflects are 9% increase in both revenue and expenditures over the current budget year.

CAFR serves Solon, Centerville, Kasson and Cleveland townships with whom they have interlocal agreements for operations. Past practice was to adopt a two-year budget, however, the townships were asked and approved going to a one-year plan, which begins April 1, 2026 and goes through March 31, 2027.
