As the saying goes, it takes a village to support the research and development of a new venture.
A commitment was made between five interested in filling in the blanks in early Glen Arbor Township history up to 1920. Lost township records were recovered; autobiographies, first-hand accounts, newspaper articles, and new photographs were located; and interviews were conducted with unearthed founders’ relatives.
The footprint of this beautiful land remained after several iceage retreats left the land ready for occupation. Indigenous peoples’ occupation was nomadic and existed years before European discovery. By 1850, early settlers stayed and invited boundaries were changed often.
