Bergman criticized

To the editor:

I’d like to respond to Representative Jack Bergman’s quotation featured in last week’s Enterprise. “The swamp is relentless, and those seeking to undo the America First agenda are willing to shut down the government and create chaos to push forward their radical agenda.”

The Democrats “radical agenda” advocates for the 24 million Americans who buy medical insurance through the Affordable Care Act; 418,000 citizens in Michigan. Those subsidies will expire at the end of the year, making health care costs skyrocket. The “radical agenda” also advocates rolling back changes to Medicaid tucked into the GOP bill passed last summer.
