Glen Lake football will host Grayling Friday night with kickoff at 7 p.m.
This game will also be a special Cancer Night for the Lakers to honor all those in the community that have been impacted by cancer, with a special recognition for Cathy Kangas, a Glen Lake teacher who passed away earlier this month after a battle with cancer.
The Lakers will wear custom Cancer Night jerseys donated by State Farm and Matt Wetmore,
which will feature a cancer ribbon featuring a type of cancer meaningful to the player. There are
16 different types of cancer that are represented across the team.
During pre-game ceremonies, players will take the field holding “I play for “signs to honor loved
ones.
Proceeds from the game and fundraising will be directed toward the causes that Kangas was
passionate about, fans are encouraged to wear pink or cancer awareness colors to show their
support.
