The League of Women voters Leelanau County will host a community forum “Federal Dollars & Rural Healthcare: What’s ahead for Out Region” will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the county government center.
Attendees will find how budget cuts in the federal “One Big Beautiful Bill”(OBBB) will impact the regions healthcare services, including rural hospitals, mental health services, the Native Health Service and more.
Rural healthcare is highly dependent on Medicaid, Medicare and private insurances subsidies and the cuts in the bill will dramatically impact the financial landscape for health services.
