Northport Promise is set to host its next themed fundraiser, a “Bingo Night Love-In,” on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Willowbrook Mill.
All proceeds made from the event will go towards scholarships for Northport Public School graduates.
Gloria Thomas, Northport Promise board member, said they did a 1920s speakeasy theme last year for Bingo night, and this year, they wanted to switch it up by going with a slightly more modern and groovy 60’s theme. In previous years, Thomas directed “the Follies,” a variety show featuring local people displaying their talents. Fundraising for each event all went to a good cause though, but the fundraisers themselves have evolved over the years.
