It’s more than a week away, but Halloween activities are planned throughout the county beginning this weekend.
“Candy Le-land,” Saturday, 1 to 3 p.m., is planned at the Old Art Building in Leland.
There will be cider, donuts, crafts, games, face painting and trick-or-treating at the outdoor event.
Costumes are encouraged.
The same day, the Leland Chamber of Commerce will host its “Fall Frenzy” with participating businesses open to trick-or-treaters.
Serenity Ranch, at 2250 N. Mork Road, in Suttons Bay, will host “Halloween at the Ranch” Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. There will “spellbound” hayrides; an opportunity to meet the ranch’s newest “haunted hooves”; bewitching games for the whole family and devilish treats available for purchased. Costumes are encouraged.
On Sunday, Oct. 26, trick-or-treaters will be haunting the streets of Glen Arbor, from noon to 3 p.m. or until the treats run out.
Trick or treating on the first floor of the county government center, from 3 to 5 p.m. There will be crafts, games, cider and donuts.
In Suttons Bay, Halloween festivities begin at 4 p.m. Oct. 31. Some downtown business will pass out candy. From 5 to 8 p.m., the Suttons Bay-Bingham Fire Department will be open for food, candy, and a place to gather. There will also be “trunk or treating” on site. Neighborhood trick-or-treating begins at 5 p.m.
The Empire Area Community Center will host “trunk or treat” Friday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to bring their cars and pass out treats to the kids on Front Street. Decorate your car. Decorate yourself. Cars need to be there at 4:30 p.m. to get parked. More information is available by contacting [email protected].
