It took 70 minutes before Leland senior Adrian Spencer knocked in the game-winner in a MHSAA Div. 4 regional semifinal game to propel the Comets to a 1-0 win over Saginaw Valley Lutheran, Tuesday.
The Comets were led by their defense as senior goalkeeper Ravello Smith stood tall in the net and earned the shutout.
“I was trying to be confident out there, own my box,” Smith said. “Keeping my boys accountable and keeping me accountable.”
