The Omena Women’s Club held its final meeting of the 2025 season last Wednesday at Allium Hill House on Lakeview Hills in Leelanau County. Lucinda Kurtz and her daughter, Sarah Hesterman, were the hostesses for the meeting. The beautifully restored vacation rental home is owned by Sarah and her husband, Tim Kemp. Following the business meeting, Sarah gave the group a tour around the five-bedroom home. One notable feature is that all of the place settings are ceramics created by Sarah’s father, Oran Hesterman.
The home sits on 10 spectacular acres of land, including its own “tunnel of trees” driveway, which sported a good display of colors for the meeting. Following the tour, the group was treated to refreshments prepared by Lucinda, Sarah, and Tim, who is a professional chef. The group thoroughly enjoyed seeing the lovely home, which is available year-round for rentals.
The Omena Women’s Club (OWC) is a 110-year old organization that has programs, including speakers and field trips, focused on learning more about businesses and services in the region. Their annual dues also support local non-profit and service organizations.
