A proposal to designate Glen Arbor as a Tree City USA was presented by the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce (GLCC) and quickly shot down by the board at the well attended October Township Board meeting.

GLCC member and owner of Great Lakes Tea and Spice, Chris Sack gave the short presentation, while fellow GLCC members Darci Ricker and Rebecca Benedict were in attendance to support and help answer questions.

Sack opened by explaining that this proposal is a part of the Glen Arbor Beautification Plan, which, “started as a measure to define, with the help of many stakeholders, what the business district/scenic corridor might ideally look like many years down the road, and take some steps to, in the interim, improve our unique and already beautiful town along the way.”
