To the editor:
The County Board says Administrator Dyer “did not violate policy” and that the grievance investigation is closed. That may sound reassuring— until you read the fine print. The Board gave no explanation of who investigated, what evidence was reviewed, or whether all witnesses were interviewed. Yet it “absolved” him while invoking confidentiality to block facts.
If the Board wants to solve problems, it must first acknowledge them. According to reports citing Commissioner Robbins, the Finance Director filed a complaint after a dispute with Dyer over funding for a Sheriff’s request—an issue that should have ended with professional disagreement, not, as we hear, verbal abuse and threats of retaliation.
