Leland sophomore Sophia Grinage won her first regional championship in the MHSAA Div. 4 regional cross country race Saturday at Benzie Central.
Grinage won with a time of 18:14, while Onekama’s Callie Sinke finished second with a time of 18:35.
“We’ve been tapering this week, so I felt really good coming into it, and I felt good from the start. I knew I had it in me at the one mile mark, and so I just sent it, I booked it, I knew I had it in me,” Grinage said.
