The doors are open and cocktails are being poured at the new Northern Latitudes Distillery (NLD) location in Lake Leelanau as of Friday.
“We made a choice 15 years ago to put our distillery in Lake Leelanau. Our daughter went to school here, our home is here, four miles from the distillery. This is our community. We wouldn’t want to put it anywhere else,”NLD co-owner Maddy Moseler said.
Northern Latitudes outgrew its 4,000-square-foot leased tasting room and retail space at the former Thunderbird and current Locals Lake Leelanau restaurant that originally opened in 2012.
