Npt. PTO to hold winter clothing drive

The Northport Public School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will host a winter clothing drive from Nov. 3-7 to help kids in the community stay warm all winter long. The PTO is looking for donations of: coats, socks, mittens, scarves, snow pants, boots, gloves, and hats.

Northport PTO President Laura Cavendish said this is the first clothing drive the group will host and is something they wanted to do in response to learning from teachers that this is a need, adding that this is something they could help solve.

“Our goal is to get a solid collection, especially for the elementary grades. If we can, we’re hoping to have a variety of options for each grade, from the basics of socks to snow pants,” Cavendish said. “If folks would prefer to make a monetary donation so we can just purchase directly, they are welcome to contact me directly.”
