Healthcare topic of panel

The League of Women Voters Leelanau County will host a public forum at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the lower level of the county building.

A panel consisting of an economist, a representative from Munson Healthcare, a board member of Northern Lakes Community Mental Health and registered nurse from Tribal Health Services will discuss how budget cuts in the recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) will impact the region’s rural hospitals, mental health services and more.

The OBBB includes significant Medicaid costs as well as cuts to subsidies to private insurance that our region’s health services depend on.
