Silence… misleading

To the editor:

Local newspapers play an essential role in holding public officials accountable. But silence can be as misleading as bias.

Readers have been told that the county’s administrator was “exonerated” after employee grievances—but the public has never seen the underlying facts. The Enterprise has not reported what those complaints alleged, whether all witnesses were interviewed, or how the investigation was handled. The Board released a short statement but not the full report, leaving the public no way to judge what really happened.
