Leelanau Township Library will host its first “Library Friendsgiving” at The Willowbrook Mill on Nov. 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend, whether a patron of the library or not — just make sure to bring a dish from the cookbook, “Potluck: Food and Drinks to share with Friends and Family,” authored by Food & Wine Magazine, for all to enjoy.
People participating are encouraged to either stop by the library to check out one of the cookbooks or to peruse the one they have to pick out a recipe, which they will create at home and bring to the potluck event to share with everyone. The library will provide the entree and nonalcoholic drinks.
Erin Connolly, Leelanau Township Library program coordinator, said she and library director Julie Preneta have previously discussed the idea of starting a cookbook group. At this time of year during the holiday season, Connolly thought an event centered on sharing a meal with others would be interesting for those looking to gather and try delicious homemade meals in a community space.
