A Suttons Bay-Bingham EMS ambulance was involved in a twocar accident at the intersection of M-72 and Bugai Road.
Tuesday just before noon, troopers from the Michigan State Police responded to a two-vehicle serious injury accident.
Preliminary investigation indicates the ambulance was southbound on Bugai with its emergency lights and sirens activated. As the ambulance approached the state highway, an eastbound SUV traveling eastbound.
The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time of the crash, Ambulance personnel suffered minor injuries. The condition of the patient in the ambulance was unknown as of press time yesterday.
There were two occupants in the SUV. The river was airlifted to a hospital downstate, and the passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
