The final draft of the 20262030 Leland Township Community Recreation Plan (CRP) is now available for public viewing and comment starting from Oct. 31 to Dec. 5. Once the official viewing period has concluded, a public hearing on the final draft will be held during the Leland Township board meeting on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
This is the second opportunity for the township parks and recreation committee to gather input from residents in the development of the CRP process. As part of the 2026 Leland Township Recreation Plan update, the parks and rec committee released a recreation survey in April 2024. The survey was made available online and in hard copy format for three weeks, with 242 surveys received.
“The title of the plan really says it all, it’s the community recreation plan, we rely on input and on as many suggestions as we can get from the community, which will assist in informing us on what the real priorities of the township need to be,”said Tim Zywicki, Leland Township parks and rec chair. “This public viewing period is pretty substantial, it’s actually more than the 30 days. We invite residents to read it, ponder it, and hopefully provide some feedback so we can be clear on our message and the priorities ahead of the public hearing in December.”
