Downes has as a number of Leelanau settings in his books, including his historical novel of the Anishinaabek, “Windigo Moon,” set in the Sleeping Bear Lakeshore; his “Biking Northern Michigan” guidebook; and his nonfiction history, “Raw Deal: The Indians of the Midwest and the Theft of Native Lands.” Stories from all three books will be featured in his show.
