VFW reports good news

The Little Finger Post of the VFW has created some news.

And it’s all been good. The post in late spring announced that it was beginning a capital campaign to raise funds for a renovation project for the VFW hall, which was built by local GIs upon returning from World War II. The hall was constructed structurally strong and remains that way, but as was typical of the time lacks accessibility in its design.

Working through mostly volunteer labor, the project began with a basement containing a dining hall and kitchen. After raising money through projects such as pancake breakfasts, money was raised to build the upstairs portion that has hosted hundreds of wedding receptions, anniversaries, parties and public events through the years.
