Jack Bergman has it all wrong about health insurance subsidies. He claims Republicans are only ending “subsidies for higher- income Americans who don’t need taxpayer help.” In reality, the cuts hit middle-income working families hardest.
Take a Northport family — an electrician and an interior decorator, both self-employed, with one child and a combined income of $120,000. Easy street, right? But after federal and state taxes, they’re left with roughly $88,000 in take-home pay.
