Leelanau County has a housing gap of 2,335 units, according to Housing North, a regional non-profit with its finger on the pulse of the housing issue.
Yet, one county commissioner questions whether filling this gap will jeopardize the very character of the peninsula.
Yarrow Brown, executive director of Housing North, appeared before the county Board of Commissioners this week, reporting on progress made by her organization in raising awareness about the need for housing and tools available to help communities fill those gaps.
