Omena decked out for the holidays

The village of Omena is bedecked for the holidays! Many thanks to the volunteers who gathered this past Friday to decorate the Omena Post Office, the fire hall and community room, and the Omena Historical Society Museum in the Putnam-Cloud Tower House. Everyone gathered afterwards for refreshments, hosted by the Omena Historical Society.

This weekend Northport will celebrate its annual Tree Lighting with a full day, and evening, of activities for the whole family. The events start with the Santa and Mrs. Claus Brunch at Northport School. This fun and delicious event is a fundraiser for this and future Northport Tree Lightings.

Then there’s plenty to do all through the day, including Letters to Santa, crafts and Storytime at the Library from 11 a.m to 2 p.m.; cookie and gingerbread house decorating at the Northport Creek Golf Course; touring Grand Traverse Lighthouse; ornament making at the Northport Area Heritage Museum; embroidery at Dolls and More; Santa Beard decorating at Find North, and wreath making at Northport Pub and Grille (NPG).
