Two regional non-profits have been awarded more than $1 million in state grants to aid in the reduction of pollution and excess runoff.
The Michigan Environment, Great Lakes and Energy has awarded grants to eight nonprofits, including the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy and The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay.
Seventeen applications requesting about $6.4 million were received in response to a request for proposals.
