Still time to donate for holiday needs program

Leelanau Christian Neighbors (LCN) are again holding the Leelanau Holiday Program, helping to make this holiday season special for eligible Leelanau County families. The distribution of gifts will take place this coming Tuesday, December 16, at the VFW hall in Lake Leelanau.

The Leelanau Holiday Program will be distributing all the Toys for Tots (TFT) toys collected in Leelanau County plus toys given to them by the TFT of the Grand Traverse Area. In addition, LCN will also distribute NEW clothing and items appropriate for all age groups, including jewelry and make-up for teens, athletic shoes, boots, electronics, crafts, and gift cards in $25 increments to clothing stores, book stores, grocery stores, and gas stations.

With less than a week to go, they still need contributions of gift items, and volunteers to help with preparations. The VFW in Lake Leelanau has again graciously donated the space to hold this event. LCN needs assistance in turning the VFW into a festive shopping area on Sunday and Monday, December 14 and 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. Contributions can also be dropped off during those hours at the VFW.
