A home on Ranger Road, also the site of a construction project, burned down Wednesday, Dec. 3 in Leelanau Township.

Firefighters from Leelanau Township, Suttons Bay-Bingham, Grand Traverse Band and Leland Township responded to the call made by passers-by at 1:11 p.m.

“When we arrived, the house was fully engulfed,” Leelanau Township Fire Chief Hugh Cook said. “It has a long driveway… uphill… which was slippery.”

Construction crews were at lunch when the fire started. No one, including firefighters, were injured in the incident.

Crews cleared the scene at 4:48 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation, Cook said.
