To the editor:
I was so surprised to read about Jeannie Coulter’s wonderful find of the “12 Days of Christmas–LeelanauStyle.” I recognized it immediately as it was written by me and my coworkers in the Commission on Aging/Leelanau County Senior Services department. It was part of a sing-a-long we included in both of the annual Christmas parties that Senior Services held each year at the Bluebird in Leland and in Maple City. Iknewitwasoursong immediately by the verses that mention Dining Vouchers and Foot Care Vouchers as they were two programs offered by our department. Then county administrator, Chet Janik, got a kick out of it and he asked us to “perform” it at the monthly Board of Commissioners Executive Meeting.
A little nerve wracking for us gals but I think they liked it.
