Waste, fraud and abuse

In Leelanau we are fortunate that our utilities are working toward greening and cleaning their energy portfolios.

Serving our rural areas, Cherryland Electric (CEC) is 62% carbon-free today, with 19% from renewable resources. They have announced a goal of being 100% carbon-free by 2030. Serving our communities, Consumers Energy (CE) has articulated a goal of having nearly 40% clean energy by 2030.
