Leelanau County’s 2025 year-to-date recycling totals are on track to meet or very well exceed last year’s accumulated total of roughly 2,488 tons.
According to 2025 Leelanau County monthly recycling totals from January through October, approximately 2,194.82 tons of recyclables were collected, while the totals for November and December have yet to be reported. Elmwood Township collected the highest amount of recyclables between January and November 1 this year coming in at 408 total tons, with Cedar following behind as the second highest collecting site with about 351 tons.
In the same January through October period in 2024, roughly 2,116 tons were collected, slightly less than the 2025 period.
