The Village of Suttons Bay planning commission voted unanimously at its regular meeting on Dec. 17 to grant Inland Seas Education Association (ISEA) “conditional approval” for its campus expansion project.
ISEA’s application for a conditional use permit has been reviewed as a “community oriented cultural facility,” permitted by right in the central business district.
The conditions for approval included: ZBA (zoning board of appeals) approval of a variance for build-to/setback along Dame Street, noting that “nothing in the planning commission approval will guarantee approval or action by the ZBA;” that all outside agency permits be required; and approval of the site plan by fire and DPW for removal of secondary access to the site.
