The Bay Community Theatre has announced a new season of Live at the Bay in downtown Suttons Bay this winter and spring featuring a lineup of acclaimed musical and live performance artists in diverse genres.

The Winter/Spring series kicks off Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. with Canadian folk singer Garnet Rogers. Described as a “brilliant songwriter” and “one of the major talents of our time” by the Boston Globe. Rogers is a powerful physical presence — close to 6 1/2-feet tall — with a voice to match.

“Canada’s favorite troubadour” has been the featured performer on numerous television and radio programs including Much Music, Mountain Stage, and All Things Considered. She has been a headline at concert venues and festivals such as Wolf Trap, Lincoln Center, and Art Park, sharing the stage with performers such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Billy Bragg, Bill Monroe, Ferron, Greg Brown, and Guy Clark.

With his “smooth, dark baritone” (Washington Post) his incredible range, and thoughtful, dramatic phrasing, Rogers is widely considered by fans and critics alike to be one of the finest singers anywhere.

The season continues Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. with a special Valentine’s Day/Mardi Gras celebration with returning crowd favorites Paxton Spangler. Throw on some beads and get ready to boogie as vibrant Detroit jazzmen RJ  Spangler and Tbone Paxton join  their incredible band to take you straight to the heart of New Orleans! These storied jazz and blues performers are cornerstone members of the Detroit award-winning swing band Planet D. Nonet, having toured to 11 states, released as many CDs, and garnered nine Detroit Music Awards. They have first-hand experience backing New Orleans greats like Johnny Adams and Early King, and have performed both together and separately in the Big East.

The next event in the series is set for Friday, March 13 with a special St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Celtic soul and American roots group Switchback.

American Songwriter Magazine (along with Americana icon Steve Earle) have praised Switchback as one of the seminal groups to blend American roots and traditional Celtic styles. Switchback’s hybrid has an energy and joyous abandon of The Chieftains  proclaimed”powerful.” With three PBS specials, music on NBC, and appearances with Moody Blues, Jethro Burns, Clifton Chenier, John Hartford, Leon Russell, Dale Watson, the Chieftains, Liz Carol, Martin  Hayes, and many others.

Doors for each of the above events will open at 6 p.m.

The season continues with back-to-back appearances by wildly popular “Psychic Comedian” Peter Antoniou on Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. and a family-friendly matinee encore on Sunday, April 26 at 4 p.m.

Back by audience demand after a previous sold-out Bay appearance, Antoniou will once again fuse his amazing and uncanny ability to read minds with razor-sharp wit, storytelling, and improvisational comedy to create unique live entertainment experience. From London’s West End to “America’s Got Talent.” Antoniou has became an international sensation, presenting his remarkable and hilarious shows for sell-out theatre audiences, comedy clubs, blue-chip companies  and royalty.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the April 25 performance; and 3 p.m. April 26.

The Winter/Spring 2026 season of Live at the Bay continues on Saturday, May 9  with acclaimed singer-songwriter and “The Voice” finalist Joshua Davis.

Raised in the folk tradition, Davis has built a career over the last 20  years as a popular touring performer and educator, including as director of popular music and singer-songwriter instruction at Interlochen Center for the Arts.

He has released five award-winning solo albums and a host of other records as band member, producer, or instrumentalist. Davis has shared the stage with Sheryl Crow, The Indigo Girls, Adam Levine, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Pete Seeger, Greg Brown, and many others.

The performance is set to begin at 7. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The Winter/Spring season of Live at the Bay concludes Saturday, June 13 with blues legend Maurice John Vaughn.  A triple threat on guitar, saxophone, and vocals, Vaughn writes powerful, innovative, and often humorous songs that spring directly from his vase musical experience. His soulful and passionate vocals are convincing because they area earned — Vaughn means what he sings.

Coming out of the streets of Chicago, Vaughn was raised on Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, Black Top 40 and James Brown. Immersed in the top levels of the family Chicago blues scene, Vaughn has incorporated his various influences into a blue and R&B style that is completely his own.

The performance is set to begin at 7. Doors open at 6 p.m.
