After a slow start, Leland girls basketball spark offensively and locked down defensively to defeat Suttons Bay, 40-14.
“It was great to play again after a long break,” Leland coach Megan Munoz said. “The team settled in and let their defense create offense.”
Leland senior Addison Waskiewicz opened the scoring for the Comets nearly two minutes into the first quarter. Sophomore Sophia Rodriguez would tie it up for the Norse a couple minutes later to setup a back-and-forth first quarter.
