Man pleads ‘no contest’ to alcohol-involved charges

A Traverse City man pleaded no contest to two of several criminal charges after a fatal accident Sept. 10.

Kenneth Marotzke was in court Monday and pleaded no contest to one count of operating while intoxicated causing death, a 15-year felony; and operating while intoxicated causing serious injury. Two other charges of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury and open intoxicants in a vehicle will be dropped at the time of sentencing.

The charges are the result of an accident in which 61-year-old Ronald L. Bellman of Cincinnati was killed shortly before noon Wednesday, Sept. 10 on M-22 near Walters Drive.
