Eagles storm past Comets

“I was really happy with our start. We kept up our effort and intensity all game long. We have been working on some things in practice that I saw the girls implement in the game tonight,” Leland coach Megan Munoz said.

The Comets (3-2) didn’t allow more than 10 points until the third quarter.

By then, the game was already wrapped up as Leland was busy running up and down the floor converting layups and beyond.

Leland is looking forward to a tough game against Buckley Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Comets, after losing to Onekama 27-18 last week.

Buckley and Glen Lake are both undefeated in the conference (4-0), while Leland and Onekama are tied in third place (2-2). Benzie Central (2-2), Frankfort (2-2), Brethren (0-4), and Suttons Bay (0-4) round out the Northwest Conference.

Norse fall to Mesick

Suttons Bay boys basketball lost to Mesick Tuesday 52-45.

Mesick (3-4) was led by Isaac Stroh with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals; Kyle Redman 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists; Ty Redman 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists.
