‘Burns’ supper, poetry Jan. 27

Leelanau Township Library in Northport is hosting a “Robert Burns Night Soup Supper and Poetry.”

Burns was a Scottish poet and lyricist widely considered as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. His poetry and songs represented the lifestyle of a peasant Scot preserving the Scottish vernacular, culture and heritage before the shift to the English language.

On Tuesday, January 27 the event will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and will include a light supper of Cock-a-leekie soup, bread rolls and shortbread desserts. (Please bring your own mug and spoon).
