LIFT Teen Center, nonprofit

After eight years of growth and impact as a program of The Friendship Community Center (FCC), LIFT Teen Center will officially transition into its own independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Launched under the umbrella of The Friendship Community Center, LIFT Teen Center was developed to meet a growing need for safe, inclusive, and free after-school programming for middle and high school students.

Over the past eight years, the program has experienced significant growth, expanding its reach, strengthening community partnerships, and positively impacting the lives of hundreds of Leelanau County teens from all walks of life. This transition reflects the strength, sustainability, and readiness of LIFT Teen Center to move into its next chapter as a standalone organization. As part of this change, Rebekah TenBrink, who has served as executive director for both The Friendship Community Center and LIFT Teen Center, will transition to serve solely as executive director of LIFT Teen Center. Her leadership has been foundational in shaping the vision, culture, and success of the program.
